Stoke City begins process to change club badge as 100th anniversary approaches

Stoke City begins discussing the club badge.

In celebration of their 100th anniversary, Stoke City will consult with their supporters regarding the club’s crest’s future.

Supporters will begin to be consulted by Stoke City regarding the club’s logo’s future. The process will now be made available to the larger fan base after the club held discussions regarding the possibility of change with the new Stoke City Connect panel, which is made up of representatives from the fan base.

After wearing the city’s coat of arms on its shirt for the previous nine years, Stoke has had its current minimalist crest since 2001. It is displayed on everything from training ground to stadium and gear.

The hierarchy is aware that there is at least some desire for a change, and since 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Stoke becoming Stoke City, it might be a good time to think about it.

If a change were to be implemented, it would probably not be rolled out all at once because consultation alone will be a significant process. Workshops, fan assemblies, and digital surveys will all be part of the FA and EFL guidelines.

An update from the latest meeting

“The club will commence the process of consulting supporters about the future of the crest in the coming weeks. The consultation will include an online survey, together with various opportunities to attend sessions.”

A report on Stoke City Women, including their relocation to a new home field in Yarnfield, was among the other items on the agenda. With 14 victories in 16 games, Marie Hourihan’s team is currently fourth in the Northern Premier Division and has advanced to the National League final, where they will play Nottingham Forest the following month.
