Alabama’s Safety withdraws from 2025 Senior Bowl
Malachi Moore, a safety for Alabama, has withdrawn from the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl, AL.com was informed on Monday by game officials.
Moore missed the season-ending ReliaQuest Bowl due to surgery for an unexplained injury, but no explanation was provided for his withdrawal. A five-year contributor for the Crimson Tide, the former Hewitt-Trussville standout was selected to the first team of the SEC and the second team of the second-team All-America pick in 2024.
Four Alabama players remain in the Senior Bowl as a result of Moore’s absence: punter James Burnip, defensive lineman Tim Smith, tight end C.J. Dippre, and quarterback Jalen Milroe. Hancock Whitney Stadium will host the NFL draft showcase and annual all-star game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Moore had his best collegiate season in 2024. The veteran racked up 70 tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 sack, and 2 INTs. Alabama’s defense as a whole wasn’t as strong in 2024 as in years past, but Moore was a reliable contributor all season long. Now, the DB will look to find his place in the NFL, with most draft analysts expecting Moore to be a mid-round selection.
